firePit taleS

fire in a pit
on a cool fall night,
shadows of things
dance in the light.

what demons hide
beneath the flame,
the deeper I stare
radiate ashes of shame.

lurking the annals
are horror’s untold
tales of a time
dark and cold.

deep in the pit
the past unfolds
festering the fears
of a nine year old.

though deeds have past
yet they remain,
as figments bask
within the flame.

eneRgy 3:49

i am clear,
do you see
can you hear?
i am i,
the atmosphere.

in the ground,
in the water,
in the fire
i am found.
in a thought
never taught,
in the silence
and a sound
everywhere
all around.

in the light,
in the dark
i am there
in the night.
in the heart,
in plain sight
in the art.

if you stare
you can find,
there’s a glare
in your mind
i am there.

in the breath,
in the depth
of the soul,
in a life
and in death
i make whole,
everything
you believe
to be so.

not in a book
i’m a brook
ener-chi
can’t be took.

in your dream
we’re a team,
like an arrow
and a bow,
this is how
energy flow.

not created
or destroyed,
i always been
in the dark,
in the void.

the BoOgeyman and the night

the boogeyman was up all night
frightening, fighting,
working overtime
making it right.
when i woke,
under a tree
sat a brand new bike.

the boogeyman was once a boy,
Oh yes, just a child.
born in the manger
of nature’s wild.
Shielded by darkness
swaddled in black,
the boogeyman is always under attack.

the boogeyman was up all night,
watching, making sure i slept tight.
no despair
when the boogeyman’s on site.

who is the Boogeyman, you said?
well – the Boogeyman died but he ain’t dead.
he came back with a different name
it all depends on who gets blamed.

the boogeyman was up all night,
like the spook, he sits by the door,
making welfare checks – you alright?

they lied when they said,
the boogeyman wasn’t home,
walked out, leaving you alone.
i just saw the Boogeyman,
he ain’t gone.

yes, we all no who the boogeyman scared,
the same one the boogeyman dared.

out of sight, in my mind
the boogeyman ain’t never hard to find.
who is the boogeyman, You said?
gaze into the mirror – say the word boo!
you’ll see the boogeyman
staring back at you.

DeStiny

only the slave can be enslaved.
its an allegory in a cave,
shadows in light do we behave.

the wretched soul can not be saved,
less understanding —
death’s life knows no grave.

all that I am and hope to be
is not a part of what i see.

fear is ultimately disbelief,
that I am master of my grief.

fate is not preordained,
nor reside in alien names.

dreams are things not in vain
but sublime visions to be claimed.

inceptiOn

in a spurt of conception
life seeks expression.

in tune with self,
naught to mend,
lust or wealth.

primal fresh,
supple flesh.
morning glow,
absent opinion
it’ll come to know.

mystic splendor
demands surrender,
complete vulnerability.
sacred and bare,
immortality declared
just within me.

bashing in wonder
of cultural curiosity,
a world to plunder
claiming no identity.
